20-22 April, 2012. Kyiv International Short Film Festival will be held in Kyiv in cinema hall "Kinopanorama".
The aim of organizing Kyiv International Short Film Festival is presenting the wide range of short films from all around the globe, created by professional filmmakers as well as by film schools students, and to develop a platform for communication and experience exchange between Ukrainian and International directors and artists.
We invite short films with the duration of up to 30 minutes to be submitted for the selection. The films must be created not earlier than January 1, 2011. There are no restrictions regarding filmmaker’s age, country of production or film genre.
On festival will be present spesial selections of Ukraine films - "Panorama of Ukraine"
Besides official selection the Festival’s program will also include the selections of festival-partners and various European film schools.

I'm back!
Hi, everybody! I'm back! Sorry for the long break. I checked all the links at the blog and some of them aren't valid :(. It seems that none of the Kiev cinemas show movies in English on a regular basis. But sometimes they held on the festivals of foreign movies. I've found a few interesting events and I'll give you details soon. Be in touch!

English Cinema Club
There is a new place in Kiev where you can find English movies (thanks El-Amin6Kiev for information).

Not many people know about your “once-per week movie in English. We went this week and there were only TREE people in. No more movies in English in Kiev :(

“The Dirty Days” in Kiev
Every year our government turns off the hot water for two or three weeks in Kiev (as they say, for testing and repairing).
Traditionally we call these “the dirty days”.
These dirty days happen at different times for different regions in Kiev and it’s never the same time each year.
Today is the first “dirty day” this year. It started at Darnitskiy, Svyatoshinskiy, Goloseevskiy and Pecherskiy regions.

Botanical garden in Kiev
Have you ever been in Botanical garden in Kiev? I’ve been there today. Look at pictures that I’ve taken. It’s so beautiful. Highly recommend you to visit the garden.

Closed: Monday, Tuesday
Tickets: 10 hrn., for kids – 5 hrn.
How to get there:
Trolleybus №14, bus 62, marshrutka 238 from metro “Pecherska”
Buy tickets near the entrance to the garden, keep them, and go straight on through the garden to this building (about 10 minutes):
Show tickets at the entrance again, come in and enjoy!
